
David Schneider
David is a DFX Supervisor at Union.
He studied Computer Science at the University of Cape Town before relocating to the UK in 2007 to begin a career as a professional software developer. He soon transitioned into a software role within the VFX industry.
David spent ten years at MPC, starting in the software department before moving into an FX TD role during the production of Guardians of the Galaxy. He went on to contribute to major studio projects including Terminator Genisys, Fast & Furious: Supercharged, Fantastic Four, and Suicide Squad. He later took on lead FX roles in The Jungle Book, Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge, and The Lion King. A three-time VES Award nominee for Outstanding Effects Simulations in a Photoreal Feature, he won for The Jungle Book and most recently for the acclaimed limited series The Tattooist of Auschwitz.
David joined Union in 2020, where he balances creative supervision of projects, development of the CG pipeline, and liaising with the pipeline team to address project requirements and troubleshoot challenges.
