Emma began her directing career with Channel 4's groundbreaking hit My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, paving the way for her to delve into single documentaries addressing sensitive topics, including the sex lives of people with disabilities and growing up transgender. In the factual entertainment genre, Emma has directed on established formats such as The Young Apprentice and First Dates and series produced multiple seasons of Channel 4’s critically acclaimed Hunted.​

In 2023, Emma series edited the BAFTA-nominated prison experiment Banged Up, a project that resonated with her passion for exploring controversial subjects through unconventional storytelling methods. Go Back to Where You Came From was her first role as executive producer, furthering her commitment to challenging narratives and producing thought-provoking content. Emma is currently show running series 8 of Hunted at Shine TV for Channel 4.
