Joe Beal is a Supervising Sound Editor, Sound Designer and Head of Sound Editorial at Boom Post, where he leads a multi award winning sound editorial team. Boom Post is one of London's leading bespoke sound facilities, delivering Sound Editorial & Design, Foley, ADR and Mixing services to the HETV and feature film industries.

Over the last 10 years Joe has amassed TV and film credits including The Imitation Game, Amazon Prime’s Hanna, Apple TV+'s Slow Horses, and Netflix’s ERIC. In 2020 he was awarded BAFTA, Emmy, RTS and MPSE awards for his sound design work on HBO's Chernobyl miniseries, and in 2024 a second BAFTA award for his work on Slow Horses. Joe’s breadth of experience across a range of production sizes and budgets gives him a unique understanding of the creative and logistical demands on sound teams across the industry.

Joe is a firm believer in creative collaboration as the main driver of great sound, and of the power of sound design as a storytelling device from script through to final mix.
