Marcus Ryder MBE

Marcus Ryder is an internationally recognised leader in the film and TV industry. With over thirty years of experience of working in the television industry, including eight years as a senior BBC news executive, Marcus has won numerous industry awards including BAFTA and RTS awards. He was also awarded the highly coveted Percy Qoboza prize by the US National Association of Black Journalists for services to foreign journalism in 2023.

In 2023 he became CEO of the Film and TV Charity, the leading organisation responsible for the wellbeing for people working behind the scenes in the film, television, and cinema sector. He has been at the forefront of efforts to increase inclusion and diversity in the media industry, launching the Sir Lenny Henry Centre for Media Diversity in 2020 and giving evidence to parliamentary select committees on the issue. In 2024 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by Bournemouth University for services to journalism and media diversity.
