Michael Livingstone

Michael Livingstone is a British TV producer, writer, and director, and the co-founder of award-winning independent production company 2LE Media. He has created and produced a wide range of critically acclaimed content across genres for major broadcasters and platforms, including Channel 4, the BBC, and Sky. Notably, he produced the feature film Dance First, a biographical drama about Samuel Beckett directed by James Marsh and starring Gabriel Byrne. The film was selected as the closing gala at the San Sebastián International Film Festival—the world’s oldest film festival—and went on to win the Celtic Media Award for Best Single Drama.

In television, Livingstone has developed numerous original formats and scripted projects. He is the exec-producer of Disability Benefits, a bold comedy-drama created by and starring Rosie Jones, which first aired as a pilot on Channel 4, winning the C21 award for Best Comedy Drama. The series has been greenlit for a full run, set to air on C4 in 2025.

Through 2LE Media, he continues to pioneer innovative storytelling, including in the branded content and virtual production space. He is also actively involved in R&D, currently leading a government-backed project in collaboration with the University of York exploring AI-driven lighting systems in virtual environments.
