Peter Taylor
Peter has worked on the live coverage of some of the biggest television events of the century, from Royal Jubilees and the Coronation to the state funerals of Nelson Mandela and Pope John Paul II. His award winning work for the BBC has also taken him “stargazing” on mountain tops, following turtles in the shallows of the great barrier reef and watching the whole process of building a car all of these transmitted live.
Peter leads the technical team at the BBC's Glastonbury operation and works on many smaller live broadcasts allowing the BBC to cover stories from where our audiences actually live and work. Live broadcasting relies on teamwork and communication and Peter has been the man with the plan for many moments of history: he is also passionate about training the next generation of outside broadcast engineers to ensure that we can continue to broadcast live the stories that matter.
